Happy Birthday ROLAS!

It has been 4 years since RoLaS entered the online world, kicking off to a grand start with the Key of Fates campaign, which lasted for over a year, and followed by more awesome campaigns and adventures. RoLaS has gone through many changes since its small beginnings, expanding, moving, and surviving through respective periods of low and high activity.

Join us as we move forward with the Realms of Light & Shadow! Become a part of the adventure, and the legends.

And from RM to all who have been a part of RoLaS, I am grateful and humbled by your contribution to the Realms.

Happy Birthday!

The Eris Rant - 00002

00002 - Improper Semicolon Usage

In my opinion, there is nothing quite as bad as improper semicolon usage in the world of writing.

No matter how intelligent, cultured, brilliant, or whatever you might want to sound, you will never escape the wrath misusing a semicolon; it just looks stupid. I would MUCH prefer comma splices instead, because those you can actually get away with.

3 COMMON WAYS TO PROPERLY USE THE SEMICOLON:
Eris was angry; she posted a rant on the blog to relieve her fury.
This example shows a semicolon connecting two sentences.

Eris abuses semicolons; however, she knows how to use them.
This example shows a semicolon being used with a conjunctive adverb.

Eris has visited the following cities: Boston, Massachusetts; Bishop, California; and Havasu, Arizona.
For lack of a better example, this one shows semicolons being used in a list to prevent comma confusion.

Theme Songs

Music is my inspiration. I love to write and listen to music, especially soundtracks. And I'll visualize whole scenes to music, like the unofficial soundtrack.

Soon I'll be putting up character and book info on The Shattered Crown - first in the series.

Here's a theme for SC - Towards the End. Anyone know where I can get this song??

Another great piece to set the mood for the book is this.

Enjoy!

BTW - ERIS, you are made of awesome!! WE HAVE A FAVICON!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:

The Eris Rant - 00001

00001 - One Little Zero Makes a BIG Difference

Well, I was REALLY brilliant today. I'm a fan of playing market online, and I can typically get some good steals and deals for my efforts; however, things were a little different today.

An item was selling for an average of 23K. Me, being the person so desperately in need of cash, set my price to 21K. Or so I thought. In reality, I'd only put down 2.1K. Before I had a chance to cancel my sale, it had been bought. So there you have it: gypped for 19K. 19K that I needed for gift-buying for my friends.

Moral of the Story: Double check your transactions, and DON'T FORGET YOUR ZEROS.

Go forth...and Blog!

Well folks, it's finally happened. I never thought I'd be the one to start 'blogging', but here I am and who came up with the term 'blog'. Is that like google, and it just randomly popped up?

We're banging the site into place - pardon the dust!

And to celebrate the start of this blog, who better to entertain than the dancing slinkies:
